NEXT GEN WINE COUNTRY
The BRIEF
California wine country may be best known for the Napa and Sonoma valleys, but in Suisun Valley, a diverse wine and farming community has been thriving for generations. As rustic and sleepy as this all sounds, a newly erected winery, signals the region’s dynamic future. Beginning in 2021 LAB was tasked with the brand strategy and visual branding for Camus Suisun.
The Approach
In conjunction with the Northern California interior design studio The Bureau, the team has set out to reimagine the legacy of Camus at it’s new home in Suisun. Brand touchpoints reflect the Suisun Valley’s quiet pastoral beauty and agrarian character (reminiscent of Napa Valley in the 1970s, before large, prominent wineries transformed Napa into a major tourist destination). The new winery, set among other family-owned vineyards and orchards, lies in a 30 acre dry-farmed vineyard on the valley floor, and is framed by the Howell mountains to the west — the range that separates the Napa Valley from the Suisun Valley.
