The Brief

John Winston Ono Lennon, co-founder of the Beatles and one half of the greatest song-writing duos of all time was best known as a musician. However,  Lennon’s other great talent began before the American rock’n’roll explosion set him on that celebrated musical path. Throughout his life, Lennon felt the beat of counter-culture through visual arts. Far from a fleeting diversion, Lennon’s drawing formed an important part of his creative process. Yoko Ono sees little distinction between the two, saying: “Along with his guitar, pen and paper seemed to have served as ideal tools to express John’s complex emotions.”  From 1997 until 2013, LAB acted as a steward for the visual work of John Lennon to assure the legacy of John Lennon lives on in future generations through design, licensing and partnerships.
